Evergreen Boats is owned and run by Matt Tucker, with his parents and four brothers giving advice and feedback as only family can!
The whole family grew up living on a 48ft Gaff rigged, Herreshoff ketch called New Zealand Maid. She was built by their parents John and Barbara who still live onboard in Northland, New Zealand. During the 13 years Matt lived on board they sailed around New Zealand, Australia and the Southern Pacific Islands including Tasmania where Matt as well as two of his brothers now call home.
The Tucker family are keen sailors with at least a dozen boats of all shapes and sizes and many thousand of ocean miles between them.
Some of these adventures included New Zealand Maid sailing to Mururoa Atoll in French Polynesia to protest the Nuclear testing 1995 and Matt, his brother Ben and father John sailing to Antarctica in Ben's 34ft yacht Snow Petrel.
